Spectral EM seminar at DTU 2013
Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Techniques for Nano-Scale Imaging and Analysis

Two seminars - Trondheim Sept 16 and Oslo Sept 24

Dear %Subscriber:CustomField2147%,

In September we will organize two seminars on electron microscopy and microanalysis at NTNU and UiO.
The seminars are free of charge to join, but the number of seats are limited, so be sure to sign up in time by sending me an email or using our website.
Our intention is to start with basics of the technique before lunch and continue with some cutting edge developments in the afternoon.
We will talk both about imaging, microanalysis and sample preparation.

This is the programme for both days, September 16 (NTNU) and 24 (UiO) :

09.00 - 09.15 Welcome
09.15 - 09.45 Introduction to SEM, EDS and related sample preparation
Part 1 – Sample preparation
09.45 - 10.15 Coffee
10.15 - 11.00 Part 2 – Scanning Electron Microscopy
11.00 - 11.45 Part 3 – X-ray Microanalysis
11.45 - 13.00 Lunch break
13.00 - 14.00 High resolution SEM technology and low voltage imaging
14.00 - 14.30 Break
14.30 - 15.00 Low voltage transmission imaging with STEM
15.00 - 15.30 Low voltage X-ray microanalysis in the SEM
15.30 - 16.30 Q&A, Open questions

For the seminar on September 16, at NTNU, we will be in the Nanolab meeting room
(at the corridor between the Chemistry and Nanolab) Sem Sælands vei 14.

For the seminar on September 24, at the University of Oslo, we will be in the meeting room VIA,
located in Forskningsparken, Gaustadalleen 21.

We will not organize lunch but there is a canteen close to the meeting rooms.

In the evening following the seminar we invite you to an informal dinner and EM "get together".
This is also free of charge and will start at ca. 18:30. More details when you register.

Send us an email or register at under Spectral Academy.
